When I was about 11 years old, me and my cousins turned on the TV one day and found out that a new show called “Pokemon” was on. We instantly loved it! What was not to like? The concept was simple: a few kids traveling around, unsupervised, training monsters to fight one another. I mean, that was every kid’s dream at the time!
Pokemon Red was one of the first video games I became obsessed with. I was determined to become the best pokemon trainer of all! I even remember I asked my parents to buy me an external lamp for my Gameboy Color to be able to play at night. Twenty years later, I still play Pokemon on a couple of different consoles and love it!
And honestly, that feeling never really left. There’s something about collecting tiny creatures, giving them names, building your little team like they’re your ride-or-die friends… it just sticks with you. You start to care. You start to have favorites. (And yes, I will absolutely judge your starter choice just a little.)
Which is probably why Pokémon and crochet go so well together. Both are slow in the best way. Patient. A little nostalgic. You sit down, stitch by stitch, and suddenly this tiny creature starts taking shape in your hands. First a round body, then the ears, then the little details that make it them.
And before you know it, you’re not just making something cute. You’re recreating a memory. A tiny piece of childhood, but this time, you get to hold it.

After so much time with humans, it even understands our speech. This pattern captures that soft, peaceful energy perfectly… the kind of little buddy you’ll want to keep close.
Baby Bulbasaur
by Evelyn Pham
Another Generation I favorite of mine, Bulbasaur has always had that calm, caring energy I love. This pattern captures that perfect mix of tough and tender in the cutest, most huggable way.

by 53 Stitches
Eevee has always been one of the most exciting Pokémon to me. So many possibilities, so many different paths depending on how you evolve it. That little spark of “what will it become?” never gets old. This crochet Eevee keeps things simple though… just pure, fluffy cuteness. And honestly, I wouldn’t change a thing.
Chibi Koffing
by Janet Carrillo
Koffing might look like a goofy little cloud, but don’t be fooled, this guy is seriously powerful. This crochet version keeps all the personality, just without the fumes… so you can safely keep this tiny troublemaker around.

Snorlax is basically my spirit Pokémon. Sleeping, eating, and somehow doing both at the same time… honestly, goals. Cubone
by Megan Bubbles
Cubone has one of the most emotional stories in Pokémon. This little dinosaur-like loner wears its mother’s skull as a helmet, keeping her close wherever it goes. Quiet and reserved, it tends to avoid others, but there’s a deep strength behind that softness. Even its tears make it stronger. This pattern captures that bittersweet charm in the most gentle, huggable way.

by Cathrine Johansson
Poliwag is a sweet little water-type Pokémon that looks just like a tiny tadpole, always happily swimming around ponds and lakes. by Nemuu Craft
Mudkip is one of those tiny but mighty Pokémon you can’t help but love. And despite that sweet face, it’s strong enough to crush boulders bigger than itself. This pattern captures that perfect mix of adorable and powerful.
Umbreon
by 53 Stitches
Umbreon is the dark-type evolution of Evee. This rare Pokemon loves to hide in the dark and its yellow stripes can glow when it’s about to attack. An elegant - yet very powerful - Pokemon.
Blastoise
by Edward Yong
I asked all my friends what their favorite Pokémon was, and almost all of them said “Blastoise.” So here it is, a true fan favorite. Big, powerful, and impossible to ignore. Those iconic water cannons aren’t just for show either, it’s said they can blast through steel and concrete. This pattern captures all that strength, wrapped up in a surprisingly adorable, handmade version.
Gengar
by Summerbug Crafts
Gengar is the kind of Pokémon that’s equal parts spooky and irresistible. A ghost-type with a shadow that moves on its own and a laugh that echoes in the dark… yeah, a little unsettling. But don’t worry, this version is all cuddles, no chaos. Made with Bernat Velvet yarn, it has that slightly eerie glow while staying incredibly soft, plush, and perfect to hug.
Lickitung
by Pokemon challenge
Lickitung is one of those Pokémon that looks like it just wants a hug… and honestly, it probably does. This chubby pink cutie is all smiles and friendliness, but that super long tongue is not to be underestimated. One lick and you’re dealing with that sticky, itchy aftermath. Luckily, this crochet version keeps all the charm and none of the chaos.
Decidueye
by i crochet things
Don’t let the looks fool you. This grass-type Pokémon might seem a little intimidating at first, but it’s actually a gentle little friend once you get to know it. Beneath that bold design is a surprisingly sweet personality. And while this is a small crochet project, it’s packed with fun details that keep things interesting from start to finish.
Giant Dratini
by Summerbug Crafts
This life-size Dratini is the ultimate cuddle buddy, ready to tag along on all your cozy adventures. Long, soft, and just the right amount of squishy, it’s made with chunky yarn so it works up surprisingly fast. The result feels extra plush and satisfying, like your own little dragon companion you won’t want to put down.
